As a teenager I would reply Two Betrayls more than any other level in Halo before Halo 2 came out wishing for more Banshee levels in the sequel when it released.
While that is a valid criticism, getting to fly a banshee through all the areas we previously walked or drove through is really amazing to me. Over the years I’ve heard “it’s the same but backward and at night”.
The most egregious of these is by far Assault on the Control Room and Two Betrayals - often cited as the biggest example of recycled content in Halo: CE. The Maw feels like an entirely different level set in the same setting as Pillar of Autumn. For example Keyes has you returning to Truth and Reconciliation in a much more damaged state and has you jumping in and out of the ship at different points to a unique new landscape below.
